project overview

With its natural log timbers and outdoor themed artwork, the interior design of this 55+ affordable housing complex embodies the great American lodge aesthetic inherent in other properties designed for this client. An inviting first floor community room with fireplace, large windows, audio-visual amenities and a warming kitchen, is large enough to host all residents for meetings and meals, while an upstairs reading room offers the opportunity for quiet reflection. Common use areas facilitate communal rapport, and include a fitness room, laundry room, computer areas, a central mailbox pick-up and an exterior patio area with fire pit. The 26 one- and two-bedroom units range from approximately 725 to 925 square feet, each with a patio or balcony and additional storage space. Designed to USGBC LEED® certification standards, sustainable features include a geothermal heating and cooling system, photovoltaic panels, rainwater harvesting for irrigation and ICF (insulating concrete form) wall construction.
