Civic

Our design ethic for civic projects is grounded in our belief in the power of architecture to enhance the performance and well being of the people who experience them. We believe that spaces designed for public use – municipal buildings, recreational facilities, libraries, community centers and others – should be inviting and welcoming, and we strive to imbue our designs for these projects with a warm and human quality. Sensitive use of scale, the three-dimensional quality of interior space and attention to details like texture, color and light – all contribute to the development of inspiring and innovative environments that invite community participation.

We believe that the most successful designs for civic projects are a direct reflection of community character, goals and values and should serve as an example of sustainable practices. We employ a variety of tools to elicit community participation in the design of civic projects and to ensure that facilities respond to the aesthetic and functional needs of those whom they serve.
